    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position is primarily responsible for providing leadership, training and quality control related to GAAP, financial accounting best practices, account reconciliations and financial analysis. The Senior Financial Accounting Analyst will liaise regularly with other team members and must be able to do so in a positive and effective manner. The ability to both lead projects and function as a cooperative participant is required. The successful candidate will be detail oriented but also able to see the big picture and assess the reasonableness of outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Identify and help implement process improvements
    • Participate in and spearhead special projects on ad hoc basis (expected frequently)
    • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts as assigned
    • Research P&L and balance sheet variances and prepare explanations
    • Assist with the monthly financial reporting package and the annual audit
    • Communicate with management regarding the financial close, issues and deliverables
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    EDUCATIONAL LEVEL REQUIRED:
    B.S. in Accounting

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    • Audit experience with a mid-sized regional or larger public accounting firm
    • 5+ years relevant experience
    • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
    • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls
    • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong data mining (AS400 and SQL), tool usage (e.g., graphing) and modeling skills
    • Advanced Excel skills (ODBC queries, pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas)
    • Lean process exposure
    • Process improvement and documentation experience
    • Customer service focus
    • Ability to succeed in a team environment
    • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
    • CPA, CGMA or other advanced accounting qualifications (preferred)
