    Hunter Engineering Company is a world leader in automotive service equipment, offering state-of-the-art wheel alignment systems, wheel balancers, lift racks and more.  Hunter equipment is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, automobile and truck dealers, tire dealers and automotive service facilities around the world. 

     

    Oversight for the day to day manufacturing operations in all of Hunter Engineering’s plants to insure quality built products, cost effective operations and achieve expected responsiveness in filling all orders. Also responsible for continuous improvement including evaluating capital equipment purchases, facilitating technological manufacturing advances and maintaining a constructive relationship within the plants as well as with the other Hunter departments in the course of running the business.

    Responsibilities

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor daily activities in all the plants making necessary changes in setting priorities, manpower requirements and coordinating interaction between the plants.
    • Investigate new and better ways of operating facilities. Coordinate implementation.
    • Manage the human resources in manufacturing to insure fully trained, flexible workforce to cope with changes in product mix, the introduction of new products and effectively dealing with large orders and expedited customer demands.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's degree in Technical field, preferably Mechanical Engineering.

    • Minimum 15+ years experience in similar manufacturing organization as a management professional with defined experience in cooperating with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Design Engineering, Cost Accounting, Customer Service, Quality and Production Inventory Control.
    • Full working knowledge with scheduling techniques and familiar with a number of manufacturing systems utilizing state of the art concepts like 5S, DFT, MRP II, Kan Ban, Theory of Constraints, World Class Mfg, etc.
    • Working knowledge of accounting practices related to cost, budgeting, overhead and use of OT.
    • Computer skills including manufacturing and production inventory control applications.
    • Superior communication skills for executive, peer, subordinate and hourly interaction.
    • Prior experience in metal fabrication, powder coat painting, electronics manufacturing preferred including actual experience on the shop floor performing direct labor work.
