Overview

Hunter Engineering is looking for a PC Support Co-Op to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, technically savvy and a customer support rock star.  You’ll be relied upon to provide excellent customer support, timely resolution of issues and documentation of internal processes.  This is a highly visible role supporting Hunter Engineering’s internal employees.

Responsibilities

Daily Duties

  • Troubleshoot any problems related to company laptop and desktop computers and/or connections to assess and resolve issues
  • Respond to incidents and requests from users relating to hardware and software issues
  • Handle problem recognition, research, resolution, and follow-up for daily user problems.  Escalation of more complex problems to senior team members.
  • Install and set up employee computers, software, and accessories
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to AV equipment such as TVs and projectors
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure employees have the proper IT related equipment to work efficiently.  Order items as needed to ensure IT can respond quickly.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely fashion and work self-sufficiently to complete assigned tasks as swiftly as possible
  • Always keeping an eye out for areas of improvement and making recommendations
  • Work with outside parties as required to resolve employee requests or complete other responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and test computer hardware and system software both manually and by the use of management tools such as PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory
  • Ensure all systems have the required software packages installed and properly configured
  • Troubleshoot network issues to isolate and analyze common network glitches
  • Maintain awareness of all actions and how they may affect other business operations

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an Information Technology, or other related field, degree program
  • Strong technical skills and ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Office365, Exchange, Skype for Business is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment that will challenge organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Must put customer service first and enjoy working with other people
