Overview

Hunter Engineering Company is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of computer based automotive service equipment.  We are in search of enthusiastic and self-motivated sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a major or minor in a field of study cohesive with Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering.

 

EE/CE Co-Ops gain experience in:

 

Test Product Design

  • Design and fabricate production test tools under the direction of engineering management and staff, including electronic, mechanical and software design.

 Computations and Calculations

  • Perform engineering computations and calculations at the direction and review of a project engineer to include any of the following: analog circuits, low frequency through RF, digital timing, system analysis

 Lab/Shop

  • Assist in a building of a prototype by operating the various electronic hand and possibly machine tools and performing basic functions of that equipment 

 Liaison Engineering

  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Discuss the concept and principles of manufacturability/testability with engineering management and staff

 Capital Equipment

  • Observe a meeting between engineering staff and a vendor
  • Participate in machine programming, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair functions in a manufacturing environment

 Quality Assurance & End User

  • Discuss the concept and principles of designing quality into a product
  • Discuss/contrast the concept of quality assurance versus quality control
  • Discuss the concept and principles of human factors design and Human Computer Interaction (HCI)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The individual will be involved in a variety of projects which may include:

 

  • Electronic prototype construction and evaluation
  • Test and evaluate prototypes
  • Electronics and mechanical shop projects; real world experience
  • Minor analysis and engineering calculations
  • Equipment modification, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

 

It will be our intent and purpose to provide the individual with real world experience, which includes assisting in the progression of a product from concept stage to production.  This position will focus on exposing an aspiring electronic design engineer to the total product evolution process, including a first-hand, practical exposure to the manufacturing floor.  Our goal is to provide an experience that will be an important, effective first step in the career of a future engineer.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Major studies in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent communication skills.
