Overview

 

Hunter Engineering Company is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of computer based automotive service equipment.  We are in search of an enthusiastic and self­ motivated sophomore, junior, or senior with a major or minor in a field of study cohesive with Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities

  • The individual will be involved in a variety of projects which may include:

    • Preparing and analyzing quote packages.
    • Streamlining and assisting in day-to-day Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) purchases.
    • Strategically locating value-added suppliers outside of the current supply base.
    • Monitoring current supplier performance utilizing Total Cost of Ownership metrics
    • Overseeing and improving service part purchases from a European supply base
    • Analyzing commodity pricing with domestic and global indexes
    • Regulating inventory with lean objectives.

 

On a day to day basis, the selected candidate will work direct with other members of the purchasing department, engineering, manufacturing, as well as with a diverse supply base.  The interaction with various internal departments and outside sources needed to complete a number of tasks and duties will allow the individual to build communication skills and improve critical thinking in a professional atmosphere.

 

The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to improve on their Business and Supply Chain concepts through the control of Hunter's in-house, customized ERP system.  This utility will allow the chosen individual the ability to monitor inventory, increase knowledge of safety stock levels and economic order quantities (EOQ), build understanding of AJB/C item purchases, and choose the most appropriate suppliers based on Total Cost of Ownership concepts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Major studies in Supply Chain Management I Engineering Management I Industrial Engineering
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
