Overview

Hunter Engineering Company is a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative automotive service equipment located near St. Louis, Missouri. We are seeking a Vehicle Database Specialist to join our Research and Development team.

The Vehicle Database Specialist will be responsible for researching, gathering and interpreting data/specifications for vehicle alignment, suspension design changes, vehicle electronic safety system advancements, and related automotive/vehicle data.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Entry-level position 
  • Responsible for gathering and interpreting data/specifications for vehicle alignment, suspension design changes, and related automotive/vehicle data. This includes communicating with automotive OEM's on a regular basis and taking detailed measurements of wheels and brake systems. 
  • Update and maintain this information via an Oracle database system, as well as create graphic images for the various computerized automotive service equipment. This often includes identifying suspension components and other under-body parts on graphic illustrations or digital photos. 
  • Analyze, evaluate, and disseminate data and information as requested to development engineers and field personnel.


Qualifications

Education Level:

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent. A 2 or 4-year degree is preferred. Any major would be considered, if the skillset and automotive interest are there.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Applicants must have high-level PC skills with emphasis on database maintenance, strong internet skills (some HTML a plus), and extreme attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with file structures, SQL queries, and report generation (Oracle a plus) would be ideal.
  • Must have familiarity with graphics software packages (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong automotive interest and good mechanical aptitude required. Familiarity with automotive service tools, especially scan tools, a plus.
